PINVIS / PRIVACY
Privacy policy
Your world, your choices.
Your account and passport
Pinvis uses your email to sign you in and recover access. Your account stores your name, traveler nickname, selected country, optional portrait, visited places, collections, wishlists, challenge answers, points and earned items. These records let us restore your passport across devices and maintain your progress.
What other explorers can see
Joining Pin Club is optional. A published explorer profile shows your nickname, portrait or avatar, selected country and scores. Your email and real name are not part of that profile. A follow request must be accepted before that person can see your visited-place pins. That permission covers your past and future pins; it does not share your private notes, visit dates, memory photos or live location. You can remove followers, unfollow or block people.
Photos and location
Profile portraits are optional. Saved visit photos are stored privately with your account. When you choose a location-based photo check, Pinvis requests device permission and sends the location, accuracy and capture time to its server to evaluate proximity to the place. It does not continuously track your movement. Raw coordinates from this check are not saved in your photo record. You can decline permission; location-dependent rewards may then be unavailable. Content you export or share through another app is governed by that app's privacy practices.
Service providers and device storage
We use Supabase for account authentication, database records and private photo storage. An email delivery provider sends sign-in codes. The app and these providers may process network information such as IP addresses and security logs to operate and protect the service. Your device caches your session, profile, progress and media. Public artwork may be delivered by remote image hosts. Data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
Safety reports
Reports identify the reported account and include your reason and any details you choose to provide. Submitted nicknames and portraits are reviewed before public display. Authorized moderators also review reports to enforce community rules. Reports are not published to other explorers. Do not include unnecessary private information in a report.
Your choices and deletion
You can edit your profile, choose International instead of a country, leave the public leaderboard and control your followers. Delete account in your profile starts an email verification and confirmation flow. Completed deletion removes your account, passport, progress, connections and private photo storage; it cannot be undone. The account cache is cleared on the device that completes deletion. Separately archived offline demo profiles and photos, and copies you exported or shared elsewhere, are not deleted. Other devices may retain cached copies until local data is cleared. If a connection fails, reopen the app and choose Retry deletion; your account stays locked until the request finishes. A fresh email verification may be required.
Deletion confirmations and retained records
A minimal deletion record supports retrying interrupted requests. It contains an internal account identifier, technical confirmation data, status and timestamps, not your email, profile or photos. Completed records older than 30 days are pruned when another deletion request is processed; this is not a guaranteed deletion date. Operational backups and security records may persist under the service providers' retention schedules and applicable requirements.
